*The Musician’s way of Management & Leadership : using examples in her professional life as a soloist, a chamber musician, a leader of ensembles and orchestras, Marina offers her unique and artistic vision on different situations that echo managerial topics such as “the conductor’s job”, “leading from the second chair”, “welcoming the unkonwn” or “finding personal space in a collective frame”

*Welcoming the Unknown : Based on her experience as an international concert violinist, Marina draws lessons from her experience on stage to not only deal with the Unknown but to welcome it

*Finding one’s way towards Creativity : An advocate of arts and culture, Marina believes that though a fine-tuning with a mindful practice of an art form or a sense of contemplation developed through listening to music or reflecting on a painting, the collective spirit can shift towards a culture of learning, curiosity and innovation, a space for inner connection with one’s emotions, a tool of  empowerment that dramatically improves the mental wellbeing of each one of the members of any organization.

WHERE ARE WOMEN in music history ?

“How in the writing of the history of music have we missed all these exceptional artists? “

a lecture where music is approached in its historical, sociological and aesthetic context.

Pioneers, off the beaten track, to conquer the stage, these trailblazing musicians are part of the history of music and performance despite a perceptible invisibility.

In this conference Marina, author of the book “Legendary Female Musicians” will take us on a journey through the 19th and 20th centuries with the aim of showing how much these women have made an essential contribution to musical and societal history and how their stories need to be told to create new collective narratives.

Through the context of classical music, this conference is a way to approach contemporary gender and diversity issues. In an age of feminine empowerment and in the post #MeToo era, it is time to celebrate these inspirational women musicians of the past and to let people know what they were capable of!
