Introduced to the public by the “Victoires of Classical Music” TV show and through her album releases, French violinist Marina Chiche pursues an international career that leads her to perform as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles at the most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, and the National Concert Hall in Beijing. She has performed on the world’s greatest stages, such as: the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Châtelet, Cité de la Musique, Salle Gaveau, Musée d’Orsay, Arsenal de Metz, Le Nouveau Siècle de Lille, Palais des Festivals in Cannes, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Gasteig in Munich, Laiezshalle in Hamburg, the National Concert Hall in Beijing, Niigata Concert hall, Warsaw Opera, the Teatro Colon in Bogota.
In Japan, during the Folles Journées, Marina Chiche performed on a major tour of 12 concerts in 10 days, including the Concerto by Beethoven with the Sinfonia Varsovia in front of 5,000 people at the International Tokyo Forum, and the Four Seasons of Vivaldi, which were then recorded and broadcast by the NHK.
Her first recording, published in 2003, devoted to the sonatas of Brahms, was recommended by Piano Magazine, Répertoire-Classica, and RTL. Since then, she has recorded around ten albums including a solo album “Apres une lecture de Bach” in 2008 that was recognized by France Musique, as well as an album “Post-scriptum” in 2020, in homage to great violinists of the past.
Marina Chiche’s concerts are regularly recorded and broadcast by France Musique, Radio Classique, BBC3, NHK, and more. She has also appeared on TF1, France3, CultureBox, Mezzo, TV5MONDE, L’Équipe TV, Direct 8, RTL, Europe1, France Inter, France Musique, Radio Classique, BBC3.
Marina Chiche earned a Doctorate in Arts and four First Prizes from the National Conservatory of Music in Paris – CNSMDP, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Germanic literature from the University of Paris X and a Master’s degree in early music from the University of the Arts in Berlin. She studied with the greatest European teachers, notably Boris Kushnir in Vienna, Ana Chumachenco in Munich, Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Paris, as well as György Kurtág and Ferenc Rados in Budapest.
A true ambassador of culture, in addition to her concerts and recordings, she shares her passion for classical music during conferences at the Philharmonie de Paris and at American universities, during seminars at Sciences Po, on TV on France 3 (as co-host of the 2021 Victoires of Classical Music) and on the radio on France Musique then France Inter, where she has a regular feature.
Her book Legendary Women Musicians, which highlights great women artists of the 19th and 20th centuries, was published in October 2021 (Éditions First / Radio France), attracting media attention (FranceTV info, Canard enchaîné, Le Monde, Challenges, Causette …) and has been awarded the 2022 Musicians Literary Prize, Essays category.
In 2020, she was selected to join the Young Leaders program of the French-American Foundation.
